A hair transplant is always composed of two parts:
1. Extraction of the donor hair follicle (= grafts) from the so-called donor region / area
2. The ensuing implantation of these grafts in receptor region /area.
Nowadays, extraction and implantation of grafts are carried out using different techniques. In addition to this, there are also differences in the kinds of grafts used.
